At Lawrence Evangelical Church, we believe kids and teens aren’t just the future of the church—they are the church today. NextGen Ministries is all about helping children from birth through 12th grade grow in faith, build lasting friendships, and discover their place in God’s story.
Sunday Mornings
Kids & Teens Gatherings
After our time of worship through music on Sundays, children and teens (birth–8th grade) head to age-appropriate groups where they can:
• Learn biblical truths in engaging ways
• Build friendships in a safe & welcoming environment
• Grow in their relationship with God
Nursery, children’s ministry, and teen classes are available. 6th-8th grade students stay in the sanctuary on the first Sunday of each month. They are encouraged to be part of serving.
Wednesday Nights (Youth Group)
Middle & High School (6th–12th Grade)
Wednesdays at 7:00 PM
Our youth group is a place for teens to have fun, build friendships, and dive deeper into God’s Word. Students experience:
• Games, activities, and community
• Relevant teaching that connects to real life
• Opportunities to grow as leaders and serve others

Frequently Asked Questions
What safety measurements do you have in place?
All our NextGen volunteers have passed a background check and have been trained on Safe Church practices. We also have ushers positioned throughout the first floor and entrance of the church. Children are never dismissed without their parent/caretaker.
How long are kids there for?
Children and students are sent down to their respective classrooms after our worship music and announcements are made in the sanctuary. They are typically in their classrooms for about 45 minutes.
Do you offer snacks?
We do not offer snacks since children and students are only in their rooms for 45 minutes. Due to allergies and keeping areas hygienic, we encourage parents to have their children fed before coming to church so they don't get hangry. :)
What if my kid has allergies?
When you first bring your child to their room, you are asked to fill out a registration form and include all allergies so we can take note.

This is a team of ministry leaders, educators, researchers, counselors, writers, editors, artists, musicians, and producers all committed to supporting churches and families as they nurture the faith and future of the next generation.

What if my kid doesn't want to go down to the classroom?
You are more than welcome to stay in the classroom with your child a couple of times. Children can stay upstairs as well, but we highly encourage you to bring them to their respective classrooms so they can enjoy God's Word and some activities tailored for their comprehension.
How are the classrooms divided?
Cuddle Corner: Birth to 2s
PreK-1st: 3s-5s (child must be potty-trained)
Grade School: 2nd-5th
Middle School: 6th-8th
